Legends of Men

”Clemson is synonymous with family”

In life, you can’t accomplish anything significant without overcoming something invincible. The age-old saying “iron sharpens iron” holds truth. A living testament to this adage is my husband, Coty Sensabaugh, and his three Clemson University roommates, football teammates, and brothers, Marcus Gilchrist, Andre Branch, and Jarvis Jenkins. 13 years ago, when I met my husband at Clemson University, he was a scholar student-athlete, locked into the daily grind required to survive as a collegiate athlete and steadily pursue his childhood dream of playing a professional sport at the highest level.

This road to the 1% is clouded. It is known that throughout many sports, football, in particular, less than 1% of student-athletes, will progress to the NFL. Yet, by the grace of God, I watched an entire house of collegiate athletes (my husband and his roommates), all with a common goal to play at the highest level, do so. And not only did they make it to the NFL, but they all excelled in the league, consistently performing for nearly a decade.

These are real-life legends of men, not only for what they have accomplished on the football field, which in itself is impeccable. But their true allure comes from the character they exude and the legacies they have created within their families and communities. I applaud them for accomplishing a lifelong dream, beating the odds, and defying expectations. Next, I applaud them for the generational curses that they have broken and how they have forever impacted their family’s trajectory for the better. Finally, I applaud their prolific entrepreneurial endeavors that are creating generational wealth and prosperity for many.

I have watched my husband lose two brothers in his lifetime. So I feel honored to acknowledge and celebrate the brotherhood he has cultivated with his college roommates- the other 1%, his brothers that uplift him, hold them to a higher standard, teach him, laugh with him, and love him. I feel like I am telling a story of triumph; I am documenting history, the history of four dynamic men, Coty, Marcus, Jarvis, and Dre, and how they positively impacted their family's, community, and the Clemson University Football Program. They are true legends of men, and as their football journey has come full circle, they are ready to pour into and uplift those that will come after them through the Clemson University Football P.A.W. Journey program.

You can easily google their names, and the internet will provide different links, videos, and highlight reels. But knowing them personally, let me tell you who this dynamic group of leaders represent.
