"Everything we do should be a result of our gratitude for what God has done for us."

Thanksgiving dinner is about tradition, and those traditions are deeply rooted in a family uniting to celebrate each other with gratitude and joy.

This entire year, Coty and I practiced a gratitude exercise with our kids each night before they went to bed-where we each child stated three things we are grateful for before praying. Of course, every night, we hear a plethora of answers that include "my snacks, my toys, and my siblings,"-but listening to these tiny people expressing gratitude for the things of importance in their life brought us both elation.

This November marks the first anniversary of moving into our home, a home we built from the ground up and went through turmoil to complete. A house that, in just 365 days, we have created so many memories in. I remember three days after moving in on November 22, 2021, with boxes in every corner and emptiness on the walls; we celebrated Thanksgiving with a delicious spread prepared by my mother on paper plates while sitting on folding chairs. There may have been no furniture and a lack of festive decor, but there was no absence of love. From that moment on, especially with what we experienced while building this house, I knew every Thanksgiving would be a time to reflect on our gratitude for life's blessings and eat excellent food prepared with love.

This year, I feel even more excited, not only because we are no longer eating on folding chairs but because we have made this house our own. So what better way to celebrate the feelings of contentment and peace for the holidays than to kick off Thanksgiving with an expert in our kitchen making magic happen through culinary art? The gratitude I feel to share my kitchen with Chef Will Williams, Founder and Creative Visionary of Seasoned Provisions, is immense, especially as Coty and I prepare for the birth of our fourth baby in less than four weeks.

With a big smile, it takes barely five seconds to see how happy and comfortable Chef Will is in the kitchen. With his Trinidad and Jamaican roots, we had a blast cooking some of the #Thanksgiving staples, infused with his unique signature traditional flavors and preparation techniques. In addition, while filming the preparation of this mouth-watering spread, we discussed his journey through culinary arts and the influence our mothers and grandmothers have on our cooking styles.
