Check out our interview below:

Megan: What is your favorite thing about being a mom?

Dom: My favorite aspect of Motherhood is watching my babies grow up. I live in the moment. I have found that perspective and being grateful for the moment is a powerful tool in life. I cherish that my babies will never be as young as they are now, and I honor this time while they are little.

Megan: What's the hardest thing about being a mom?

Dom: Often, society directly or indirectly places unnecessary pressure on women and mothers. One of the hardest aspects of motherhood is simultaneously being pulled in so many directions while trying to balance your life and needs with the needs of your spouse and children.  You have to remember to pour into yourself so that you can effectively, efficiently, and wholeheartedly pour into your family. I set the rules on my life, never conforming to anyone’s “perception” of managing motherhood, building an empire, and loving my husband should look like.

My motto is “good, better, best-I will never let it rest until my good is better and my better is best.”

What helps me maintain my best is self-care- working out, practicing yoga, meditation, and developing my relationship with Christ. It is easy to let life’s day-to-day cause you to feel overwhelmed and exhausted but, it goes back to living in the moment. For example, I can’t take business meetings some days because my family needs me, and I’ve learned that is ok. Some days, I can be super mom, cook dinner, work out, attend business meetings, and clean my house. Other days we eat takeout, and the laundry overflows. Both of these scenarios are what make me supermom.

Megan: Number one tip for balancing mom life and work/personal life.

Dom: A key to successful parenting is ignoring the criticism and noise from society about what “motherhood” should or should not consist of. As mothers, I believe that we can do it all but not always at the same time. We have to compartmentalize our responsibilities and find the balance between our personal and professional life.

Also, mothers need friend groups and support systems that are made up of other mothers. It is important to have a tribe. They elevate you, support you and inspire you. Your vibe attracts your tribe! If an individual is not contributing to your personal or professional growth and development, they do not deserve your time. Also, other mothers can personally empathize with the daily struggles of motherhood provide feedback for growth as a mother.

Megan: What is your biggest style/fashion challenge as a mom?

Dom: When you are in a transition from pregnancy, postpartum, etc., your body is constantly changing sizes, and it is sometimes hard to find clothing that is flattering yet functional. Birthing and breastfeeding three babies in the last four years has taught me my body can do anything. I also need my wardrobe to literally do anything from slaying at soccer practice to be comfortable yet cute while caring for an infant or ready to run through the park with my toddlers.

Megan: What is your favorite piece at Boem?

Dom: My favorite piece at Boem is this adorable soft pink baby doll dress with beautiful ruffled shoulders. It’s comfortable, sexy, and breathable. I wore it to my daughter's 2nd birthday party and it was a huge hit.
